Hello AIM Blog!

Welcome to my blog. I have been wanting to launch a blog to address frequently asked questions from Open AIM users and issues I run into while developing custom clients or plugins.

I am sorry, but I cannot reset your password due to security reasons. I dont have access to user accounts. You can go to https://my.screenname.aol.com/ and follow instructions from “forgot password” there to change it.

Hey, Gowri. Thanks for your blog, it helped me get started on Open AIM. I wrote a small Open Aim app to send texts for appointment reminders from an MS Access DB. It works great on my development box, but when I install the app on a non-dev machine, it can’t find the AIM service. I’ve checked the obvious firewall exceptions, etc. Do you have any ideas?

Hi Mike,

Glad my blog is helpful! Can you submit a ticket here? http://dev.aol.com/forum?fid=24

This is where myself and other AIM developers track issues for support. Offhand I am thinking that you need to deploy the Open AIM DLL’s in release and also the SSL libraries. Are you deploying and developing on Win XP?
